AFSCME is a union made up of a diverse group of people who share a common commitment to public service. Its 1.4 million members include nurses, corrections officers, child care providers, EMTs and sanitation workers providing the vital services that make America happen. While they work for justice in the workplace, they also advocate for prosperity and opportunity for all of America’s working families.  They not only stand for fairness at the bargaining table — they fight for fairness at the ballot box and in the halls of government.
